Chicago Golf Club

My golf nut friends have all told me that CGC is one of the top five courses in America.  They are correct in this assessment.  

The course design is just perfect and incredibly interesting and intelligent.  I love the 12th hole with a punch bowl green that is a little hard to describe but essentially is a green that has four greens in one and has a hill that surrounds three sides of it.  On another hole called the “cape” they have a diagonal sand trap across the middle of the fairway giving the average golfer like me a challenging tee shot.  Bunkers play a prominent role on most holes and are often hidden from sight on the tee.  The course is mostly flat and an incredible walking experience.  The green complexes are huge and first rate.  

The course has a strict no phone policy but I took this shot on the drive in – hilarious how small and understated the sign is:
