Hazeltine is a cool place. The club house was the first thing to impress. It was rebuilt to a modern design and is like no other clubhouse I’ve been to in this top-100 journey, breaking all the rules other clubs seem to follow, with a vibe of a really nice, new, hotel or bar.
We played the year after the 2016 Ryder Cup and the membership still glowed from this event. The course has a long history of hosting large pro and amateur golf tournaments and will be hosting events well into the future given the quality of the course, proximity to a major city (with a lot of hotels), and endless land around the holes to install grandstands and corporate tents.
Recently Hazeltine slipped just out of the top 100 but should be put back in and likely will do so.
Thanks to our host Quinn for the day.
