When we showed up at Fishers Island the pro said we were in for a treat… that the course is in A+ shape and is “for-sure” the best course in the world today. It was the last day of the season and the greens were running as pure as any round I had this year (um, and if you follow this blog, I’ve had a few high-quality rounds this year- lol).
I hadn’t ever played Fishers before and I had heard it was awesome but was very happy to see the place lives up to the hype. This was a top-5 golf experience for me.
Water is seen not only on every hole but on every shot but one on the course. You have to take a boat to get to the course (duh, its called Fishers Island). My friend found some fishermen to take us which was fun.
The holes were laid out in a very, very interesting way. Overall it had the feel of sort of something like National, Chicago Golf Club and Maidstone if you could somehow mix all three together and then put all 18 along the water.
This course is one of kind and certainly, certainly one of the best in the world. Jump on the chance to play it.
Here are some more photos of the day;
