Home of the first ever US Open in 1895, Newport Country Club is an important part of golf history in America. For some reason the course is not ranked in the “top 100” but this is a mistake in my opinion. In fact based on my experience the course should probably be in the top 75 at least.
The iconic clubhouse greets you and rivals any of the mansions one might see on a Newport tour.
The fescue grows naturally along the seaside course. We had the chance to play golf in its purest form, on a rainy, windy day.
The course is very well maintained and is beautiful throughout.
