The famous sign that awaits you on the first tee does not lie. I think maybe, maybe I was able to get on one of the par fours in regulation all day — and, I was driving pretty well (for me) today!
The course was in great shape. Any private course in the area would be thrilled to have their facility in as perfect shape as Bethpage was today.
I thought the course was every bit as good as its famous Tillinghast private course neighbors including Quaker Ridge and Winged Foot.
The course was pure. Well worth the hype. Just very, very difficult.
